I don't like it either, but if a streamer wants to be less approachable, that's fine. The primary reason it was added was to reduce trolls who randomly spam chat. There are probably better ways to deal with trolls, but maybe not within reach of limited DLive resources. 99% of the time I just navigate away from streams where I can't chat without following. But eh, they are free to do it if they want. I'd say their loss, but I'm no one so special.
